Instantly benefited by newbie Francesca Brierley (aka Heka)'s comforting vocals, which take turns on lead duties with songwriter, vocalist and guitar Sam Fryer, the whole track is doused in a warm veil of nostalgia. Breezing through a carefree chord progression, aided by sturdy yet melodic bass parts, softly played drums give the piece and encouraging push along. Described by the band as an old song about “not getting stuck in the past and finding contentment in your present, even if it’s not what you expected,” 'Country Folk' is a feel-good earworm with the purest of intentions.
